MR: What was your motivation behind founding Allyzent, and how is the company addressing key challenges in healthcare today?

Dr. Sohail: I founded Allyzent in January 2024 to revolutionize healthcare through AI-driven insights. Our AI Integrated Healthcare Platform is designed to tackle some of the industry’s most pressing challenges—provider burnout, administrative burdens, and gaps in patient care.

My experience in both the payer and provider sectors has been invaluable in understanding the unique pain points that healthcare organizations face. Whether it’s improving care management or developing analytics-driven solutions, AI has the potential to radically transform healthcare by providing real-time insights that improve decision-making, reduce administrative tasks, and enhance care coordination.

The healthcare system is facing several critical challenges that Allyzent directly addresses:

  • Provider Burnout: Clinicians are often overwhelmed by administrative tasks, leading to burnout and high turnover rates.
  • Revenue Optimization: Many healthcare organizations struggle to identify missed revenue opportunities and efficiently bridge care gaps.
  • Care Gaps: There’s frequently a disconnect between the care patients need and what they receive, particularly in value-based care models.
  • Interoperability: Despite advancements, many healthcare systems still struggle with seamless data exchange.
  • Actionable Insights: While we collect large amounts of data, turning it into actionable insights remains a major challenge.

That’s where Allyzent’s platform comes in.

MR: Can you elaborate on Allyzent’s core values and how they drive your approach to healthcare innovation?

Dr. Sohail: At Allyzent, our core values are built around innovation, integrity, and impact. We focus on leveraging AI and advanced analytics to solve real-world healthcare challenges. Our vision is to create a healthcare ecosystem where data flows seamlessly, decisions are informed by real-time AI-driven insights, and patients receive personalized, high-quality care.

Our mission is clear: to develop and implement an AI Integrated Healthcare Platform that empowers providers, engages patients, and enhances the overall quality and efficiency of healthcare. We are dedicated to tackling issues like provider burnout, optimizing revenue for healthcare organizations, and bridging care gaps with our FHIR-compliant, cloud-native solutions.

Every feature of our platform—whether it’s streamlining workflows or providing actionable insights for value-based care—supports our mission to create a more connected, intelligent, and patient-centric healthcare system.

This is what inspires me daily—seeing how our technology streamlines workflows, increases revenue for healthcare organizations, and ultimately improves patient outcomes.

MR: How does Allyzent’s AI platform streamline non-clinical tasks in healthcare, and what specific benefits does it bring to administrative efficiency and patient experience?

Dr. Sohail: At Allyzent, we focus on using AI to simplify the day-to-day tasks that can overwhelm healthcare staff. Our platform takes over a wide range of non-clinical duties, helping reduce costs and free up time for more critical, patient-focused work. Here are some key areas where our AI excels:

  • Comprehensive Communication Management: Our AI manages all digital interactions—emails, texts, and calls—streamlining appointment scheduling and patient follow-ups across multiple channels.
  • Optimized Patient Experience: By reducing wait times and improving access to care, our AI-driven processes ensure patients spend less time waiting and more time receiving care.
  • Patient Outreach: Our AI manages outreach programs, following up with patients, sending preventive care reminders, and providing patient education. It also helps identify care gaps and ensures patients receive necessary care when they need it.
  • Administrative Efficiency: We automate tasks like managing patient files and routine paperwork, allowing staff to focus on delivering personalized care instead of getting bogged down in administrative duties.
  • Intelligent Scheduling and Resource Allocation: The platform ensures no overbooking happens, and clinicians’ schedules stay balanced. This maximizes time and resources while keeping workloads manageable.
  • Enhanced Patient Engagement: Through automated reminders, follow-ups, and ongoing communication between visits, our platform helps patients stay connected and informed throughout their care.
  • Inclusive and Empathetic Care: Our AI delivers compassionate, multilingual support to break down communication barriers, ensuring all patients receive accessible, empathetic care.
  • Billing and Payment Reminders: Automating billing statements and payment reminders helps ensure timely payments and eases the workload of tracking down outstanding balances.
  • Checking Prior Authorization Status: Our AI can contact insurance companies to check the status of prior authorizations, speeding up the process and giving staff more time to focus on patient care.

MR: Why did Allyzent choose to develop its own in-house LLM? What advantages does it offer?

Dr. Sohail: At Allyzent, we made the deliberate choice to develop our own in-house large language model (LLM) instead of relying on third-party solutions like OpenAI’s ChatGPT. One of the main reasons is security.

External LLMs can expose patient data to potential risks, a serious concern in healthcare. Even if these companies claim HIPAA compliance, using their models introduces an added layer of vulnerability. With our internally built LLM, we maintain full HIPAA compliance, ensuring the highest level of data security.

Another important advantage is reliability. Many third-party LLMs suffer from issues like hallucinations, where the AI generates irrelevant or inaccurate responses. By controlling our own LLM, we reduce that risk and provide more reliable, accurate outputs for healthcare providers.

Cost is another key differentiator. With our in-house AI model, we can offer services at a significantly lower price point compared to competitors who rely on expensive, third-party models. This affordability allows us to serve smaller healthcare providers—such as independent practices, chiropractors, dentists, and med spas—who often find AI solutions out of reach because they’re designed primarily for large hospital systems.

Ultimately, our goal is to make AI accessible and beneficial for healthcare providers of all sizes, not just the big players.

MR: Being at the helm of Allyzent, how do you balance innovation with the practical needs of healthcare providers?

Dr. Sohail: My role at Allyzent is diverse and dynamic. I guide the development and implementation of our AI Integrated Healthcare Platform, ensuring it meets market demands while harnessing the latest advancements in AI and analytics. I work closely with our engineering and data science teams, leading the entire process from concept to launch.

A crucial focus of my responsibilities is building strong partnerships with healthcare providers and payers. I show them how our platform can address specific challenges, like reducing administrative workloads, optimizing revenue, and enhancing patient care. Our aim is to create solutions that genuinely improve healthcare operations and outcomes.

I also play a central role in shaping our AI and analytics strategy. My medical background helps ensure that our technologies are not only advanced but also practical and impactful. We focus on real-world issues like provider burnout and care gaps, making sure our platform delivers meaningful benefits to those working in healthcare.

MR: You are also the founder of Elucid Health. Can you tell us more about the platform and its impact on healthcare?

Dr. Sohail: Elucid Health is a platform designed to bridge quality gaps in care for both payers and providers, whether in Fee-for-Service or Value-Based Care programs. Our focus is on leveraging advanced analytics and AI technology to enhance care delivery. Through these technologies, we identify gaps in care and address them efficiently, ensuring better patient outcomes and greater operational efficiency.

One of our significant achievements has been the development of a Value-Based Care digital platform that integrates care management with health analytics. We’ve also implemented FHIR-compliant solutions to improve interoperability with major EMR systems, which has allowed for seamless data sharing and better coordination of care. By adopting cloud-native technologies, we’ve improved the platform’s scalability and efficiency, ensuring it can handle large volumes of data while maintaining performance.

Elucid Health has been a leader in using data analytics to pioneer health equity initiatives. These efforts are part of our larger strategy to drive data-driven decision-making in clinical settings, enabling healthcare providers to offer more personalized and effective care. The platform helps identify gaps and addresses social determinants of health, contributing to improved health outcomes.

Strategically, we’ve expanded partnerships that have driven growth and opened new market opportunities. Our patient engagement strategies have transformed our business model, positioning Elucid Health as a thought leader in the healthcare technology space. Alongside these efforts, we’ve built a high-performing team focused on innovation and excellence, which has been key to our success.
