Oktoberfest Tents Timing and Schedule

The opening day is Saturday in mid-September at noon when, in the Schottenhamel Festival Hall, the Munich Mayor taps the first barrel of Oktoberfest beer to get the official festivities begin in all the tents. The keg tapping starts the first official day of serving beer brewed from local breweries in Munich in all small and large tents. Inside each tent, 6-6.3% classic Oktoberfest beer is served, including traditional Bavarian foods with brass music and many other activities.
