MR: Your background blends technology and leadership. Could you elaborate on how this combination has shaped your career and approach to problem-solving?
Ms. Derr: My Master’s in Systems Management gave me a solid base in both technology and leadership. My career has been driven by a deep curiosity to solve problems and use technology for real impact. At Apple, I led teams that built systems and solutions crucial to expanding Apple Pay and other products worldwide.
These experiences taught me how to drive innovation, manage high-performing teams, and build strategic partnerships. I was honored to receive the “Uber Achiever” award at Apple for my contributions to their global expansion.
Navigating complex business environments, embracing mentorship, and adapting to technological change have been pivotal moments. I’ve always enjoyed helping others grow and develop their careers, leading by example. This collaborative, forward-thinking, and impact-driven approach defines my leadership style.
MR: You founded PartnerAlly to address a gap in the tech world. Can you tell us more about that specific need and how PartnerAlly is filling it?
Ms. Derr: I founded PartnerAlly because I saw a real need for better collaboration and integration between partners, investors, and businesses in the tech space. FinTech has exploded with innovation, but many businesses still struggle with disjointed workflows, compliance hurdles, and inefficient partnerships. PartnerAlly was created to simplify these complexities.
We offer an end-to-end solution for strategic partnerships, enabling organizations to scale efficiently, seamlessly manage workflows, and unlock new growth in today’s interconnected digital economy.
MR: You emphasize the importance of partnerships. How does PartnerAlly go beyond simply managing transactions to create truly transformational collaborations?

Our platform uses AI-driven insights, automated compliance, and workflow optimization to ensure partnerships are truly transformational, not just transactional. By streamlining communication and boosting efficiency, we empower businesses to innovate and expand their reach.
Furthermore, PartnerAlly is designed to simplify business operations by addressing key pain points in collaboration and integration. Our platform offers automated compliance management, AI-powered partnership insights, and workflow orchestration to simplify complex processes.

MR: You’ve had a diverse and impactful career. What experiences, in particular, have prepared you to lead PartnerAlly?
Ms. Derr: As PartnerAlly’s CEO, my main job is driving our vision and strategy, making sure we stay innovative in partnership management. I lead a great team, oversee product development, and build relationships with investors and industry leaders.
Before PartnerAlly, as Chief Business Officer, Americas, for Restart, I played a key role in their growth, building strategic alliances across the region. My focus was on driving business growth, establishing key partnerships, and navigating the market. Under my leadership, Restart scaled its operations, implemented cutting-edge tech, and solidified its industry leadership.
MR: Many women in tech face similar challenges. What specific obstacles have you encountered, and how did you overcome them?
Ms. Derr: Like many women in tech, I’ve faced challenges with representation, bias, and breaking into leadership. Early on, I was often the only woman in the room, constantly having to prove my expertise and leadership.
I tackled these challenges by building a strong network, continuously learning, and advocating for inclusivity. My journey has shown me the real importance of mentorship and creating opportunities for other women to succeed in tech.
MR: What trends do you see shaping the future of FinTech, and how is PartnerAlly positioned to capitalize on them?
Ms. Derr: The future of FinTech will be driven by AI, blockchain, and RegTech. Compliance automation will be crucial as regulations become more complex. Also, embedded finance and DeFi will change how businesses and consumers interact with financial services. Companies that can integrate these technologies while maintaining security and trust will lead the next wave of FinTech innovation.
My goals for PartnerAlly include expanding our global reach, building new partnerships, and driving tech innovation. I’m especially excited about our upcoming AI-powered partnership analytics tool, which will give businesses actionable insights to optimize their collaborations. We’re also working on strategic alliances with key players in FinTech and enterprise tech to make our platform even better.
MR: It sounds like you have a rich life outside of work. How do you maintain that balance, and what are some of your personal passions?
Ms. Derr: Work-life balance is an ongoing effort, and for me, it’s about setting clear priorities and boundaries. I love spending time with my kids and my Maltipoo, Koko, who brings so much joy.
Outside of work, I’m passionate about writing children’s books. I’m currently working on The Enchanted Chronicles of Kindness, a series celebrating love, compassion, and the magic that connects us all. My first book in the series has just been published on Amazon Kindle!
I also love exploring new places and mountain climbing—I’ve summited Kilimanjaro and other peaks, and even participated in ultramarathons through deserts, jungles, and mountains. These experiences really fuel my resilience and drive for growth.
MR: What advice would you give to aspiring leaders, particularly women in the tech industry?
Ms. Derr: My advice to aspiring leaders, especially women in tech, is to never underestimate the power of resilience, curiosity, and community.
