“As you binge-watch your thirteenth entire series or read a book or sleep to music, remember. Remember that in the darkest days when everything stopped, you turned to artists.”
With the rise of COVID-19 and lockdown norms, the whole population turned towards art for serenity. Art has always been a thread that brings heal, calm, and hope together. Despite that, Art or the artists’ community has always been overlooked in the race of science and other technological advancements. Jaya Aiyar (Founder and CEO at Créatif) realized the lack of Art Studios where people could experience Art with friends and family & envisioned a brand that would redefine an Art Studio by integrating Art and technology.
Her idea was to create a platform that would transform the traditional Art studios into a clean, modern, inviting, and inspiring space for family and friends. “Most new studios being a part of the paint-and-sip trend had resulted in a lack of family-friendly Art places. It was the beginning of a thought that developed into Créatif!”
Future of Art Studio
Créatif is an award-winning Art Studio that offers a futuristic Art Studio experience. It is one of the first unique concepts that combine Art and technology and transforms the traditional art studio into an exciting and experiential community destination. It was established with a vision to offer an impactful, holistic, and memorable art experience for its customers. Créatif has brilliantly merged entertainment and education under its wide range of services. It leverages the high-demand for family entertainment, the thriving children’s activity industry, and “STEAM” education along with the popularity of adult-oriented painting studios, and brings them all together under one brand, providing parties, workshops, classes, camps, paint kits, and DIY/walk-in services. The platform is building a more fruitful source of entertainment for the locals.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, California announced a lockdown that hindered the in-studio operations of Créatif. With a widespread digital transformation, Créatif too swiftly shifted to an online model. Initially, it offered an online summer camp program and then transitioned to offering virtual painting workshops, virtual art classes and to-go paint kits. These online programs became popular amongst the crowd and were very well received within the local community. This new addition of online/virtual programs has also added to multiplied revenue streams for its business model. These virtual solutions will also benefit Créatif’s business model and its franchises in the post-COVID-19 era.
Supporting Art Programs
COVID-19 has had a significant impact globally both in terms of health and economic conditions. During these difficult times, many businesses have adapted to the change or pivoted to stay afloat. The pandemic has also managed to deeply affect the franchise industry; however, experts are optimistic about the future. Jaya is closely reviewing the situation to support the franchise network and bounce back from such situations quickly and efficiently. She adds, “COVID-19 has allowed people more time to stop and recognize what is most important to them—which is their families and loved ones.”
Presently, STEAM-based education is gaining popularity. However, several schools lack the funds to support their Art programs. Jaya affirms, “We fill this void by providing opportunities for Art experience & promoting the overall well-being of all individuals.” As children make up a big customer base for Creatif and it targets the family entertainment-centric industry, the business is much more resilient in such tough times. Even in the worst economic times, parents will continue to invest in the future of their children.
Turning Concept into Brand
Jaya’s has been highly instrumental in turning the concept into a brand. Being the visionary of Créatif, she gets involved in all aspects of studio operations at the corporate location, to gain insight into the industry. She has helmed multidisciplinary roles, sharing the same she asserts, “From conceptualizing the design esthetics of the studio, identifying and overseeing the development of our proprietary technology, determining the primary revenue streams for the business to opening our flagship studio, I’ve managed all aspects of our corporate location and business operations.”
In the initial days, creating brand awareness was one of the biggest challenges. However, due to the creative and unique business idea, the brand quickly gained popularity and now has introduced the franchise program to expand the concept to other locations. Jaya was resilient in attaining her goal and making Créatif a successful venture. She aims to support its franchisees in creating the same unique business and studio appeal in their territories.
Developing New Franchise Opportunities
Interestingly, Créatif offers seven different revenue streams to stabilize income by reducing seasonal fluctuations and by offering something for just about everyone – all within reasonable and flexible hours of operation. Consequently, making Créatif one of the most exciting, appealing, and profitable new franchise opportunities being developed from coast to coast.
Being part of a successful venture, Jaya advises that while investing in a franchise one must be able to identify their passion. Secondly, must know the answer to why? i.e. they must evaluate the reasons for starting a franchising business. Finally, be aware of the finances as owning a franchise is an investment. “Besides these, an individual must evaluate the franchisor’s support system, long term vision and growth trends of the industry that they are want to be a part of,” concludes Jaya.
