There have been some impressive data released by Activision regarding the Call of Duty franchise in 2020. Call of Duty has surpassed $3 billion in net bookings in the last 12 months alone that made the franchise one of the highest years to date sales.
Activision has stated that Call of Duty has reached an all-time high, the highest in franchise history because of fan engagement and premium game sales. The company states that this growth is a part of the franchise’s new “shared ecosystem business model.”
The Call of Duty franchise—Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, has surpassed over $3 billion in net bookings over the last 12 months because of the key performance metrics across engagement and premium game sales at all-time.

Over 200 million players have played Call of Duty in 2020 alone, across consoles, PC, and mobile!
In November 2020, the company put forth that most players were online in the franchise and most hours were played. The revenue was also up by 80% in November 2020 that was higher than the previous year.

Byron Beede, Executive Vice President, and General Manager, Call of Duty, Activision said, “The momentum over the last year across the Call of Duty ecosystem from free-to-play Warzoneas well as post-launch support of Modern Warfare, and now to Black Ops Cold War has been incredible.” He also confirmed that the next advancement in Black Ops will come with an incredible campaign, an all-new zombies experience, and of course, a high-octane multiplayer.
Since its March 2020 launch, the Call of Duty-Warzone franchise saw nearly 85 million players. The Warzone is set to take a new dimension with the help of its integration, Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare.
