Roku has recently announced five new streaming devices. It is reported that one of them is a streaming stick, which is capable of playing 4K content. The company has also introduced a new operating system named Roku OS 8. Among many features of this operating system, it is gaining traction due to its voice control feature.
Among those five devices, the Roku Express and Roku Express+ are the entry-level streaming devices. These streaming devices only cost $29.99 and $39.99 respectively. The company has shared that the two models are about five times more powerful than their predecessors. Although the capabilities of these devices are almost same, the only major difference is that the Express+ comes with HDMI and composite A/V port, and the Roku Express only features HDMI. These devices are considered ideal for users who are opting to stream movies and TV shows for the first time.
Other two devices are the Roku Streaming Stick and the Roku Streaming Stick+. These replace last year’s Roku Premiere and now feature a built-in quad-core processor. The Roku Streaming Stick has capability of streaming 1080 full HD content in only $49.99. On the other hand, the Roku Streaming Stick+ costs $69.99 and is capable of streaming 4K HDR content.
The fifth product is the new Roku Ultra. This is the company’s premium tier streaming device and costs only $99.99. This device supports 4K HDR content and is capable of playing 4K HDR content at 60 frames per second. This device also has variety if ports. The voice remote can be used to control TV power and volume. All these products are available to pre-order on various platforms such as Walmart and Amazon, and will be available in-stores by October 8.
