With the addition of two accountants, RMT Accountants & Business Advisors is expanding its specialised healthcare business.
James Broomhead and Monisa Shahzad have joined Gosforth-based RMT Healthcare and are now handling all facets of the company and personal finances of several healthcare practitioners and companies around the United Kingdom.
Monisa, who is originally from Northern Ireland, attended Ulster University in Derry to complete her accounting degree before working for the multinational accounting firm PwC in Belfast.
She has five years of work experience, including invaluable understanding of the healthcare business, and came to the North East four years ago.
James, who is from Middlesbrough, graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in accounting and finance before starting his career four years ago with a local business.
Since then, he has finished his ACA professional qualifications and obtained his chartered accountant status with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
Currently the biggest dedicated specialist team outside of London, RMT Healthcare is one of the top medical and healthcare accounting practices in the UK, serving well over a thousand medical professionals in the North East and beyond.
Since it has assisted a growing number of practices and healthcare professionals in restructuring their finances, it has experienced tremendous growth in the past several years.
According to Monisa Shahzad, working in the healthcare accounting industry is both fascinating and difficult since there is a great deal of specialised information on healthcare providers and businesses to take into account.
“I’m constantly learning more about this in my new role, and I can get more involved with the kind of accounting work that I’m particularly excited to do.”
“I really liked everything that RMT had to offer, especially in terms of workplace culture,” James Broomhead continues after their initial chat.
“This is such a happy, welcoming atmosphere, and I’m grateful to be a part of such a knowledgeable, helpful team.”
“We’re continuing to build our team to help us meet the very specific requirements of new and existing clients,” says Maxine Pott, director of RMT Healthcare, “as the demand for our specialist healthcare services continues to grow substantially.”
“James and Monisa are both highly accomplished finance professionals who have had great success starting their careers with RMT.”
With its teams dedicated to accountancy, corporate finance, recovery and insolvency, medical and healthcare, and specialty taxation, RMT Accountants offers a comprehensive array of financial and business advising services.
