FCMB and MOD Collaborate to Provide Better Option in Higher Education

A New Door of Opportunity

The First City Monument Bank joined hand with the MOD Education to help students who want to pursue an education in foreign universities.

The organisers also setup International English Language Testing System (IELTS) training for two days to provide aspirants training in the language which is necessary for enrolment in foreign universities, and in some Nigerian institutions.

Olu Akanmu, Executive Director of retail banking at First City Monument Bank, while talking to media, was full of praise for Nigerian Administration for the fast paced progress in different areas but downplayed the ill health of education sector. And emphasised that bank was very careful while preparing this programme.

He also said the quality of education is the focal point that can renew and revitalise economic growth and sustain it for a long time. The centre point of this initiative is on young students who want to study in foreign colleges or in excellent Nigerian institutions.

Better Quality for Greater Good

This programme will help the aspiring students to acquire the skills in the English language, which will help them in their journey from admission to completion of studies. This Programme will be first allocated to the FCMB customer’s children and young students who are joined with the bank.

The training session organised on 26th and 29 of June, gathered around 13000 candidates inside the premises and thousands outside of it, who joined the live-streamed transmission. The experts such as Dele Owolowo, International programme Australia, Farouk Obebanjo, Owner of MOD IELTS test centre and KAzeen Tijani, Head of IELTS Nigeria are the few dignitaries present at the seminar, who took the session were top of their academic fields; they familiarize the crowd on how to crack these IELTS tests.

The people were full of praise for this new programme which will benefit the younger people to get the desired quality of education in their preferred country. In return, they can help to build the nation with their acquired knowledge in different fields.

One of the young people Shola Akinyemi was very happy with this new programme. He said, to be sincere, “I’ve always wondered if I would ever get the opportunity to attend any form of class or training before attempting the IELTS exams based on my tight schedule, but FCMB handed this opportunity to me completely free of charge, and on a platter of gold. The consultants who facilitated were very eloquent and understood every aspect that we Nigerians usually have serious challenges with. For this reason, I would like to say a big thank you to FCMB for always being the bank that provides opportunities for Nigerians.”
